Multiple investigations are underway into a horrific bus crash in Horseshoe Bay, B.C., that left a four-year-old boy dead and his mother in critical condition on Wednesday.
A spokesperson of the family says the mother and her only son had taken a day trip to Bowen Island with a friend, who was also injured in the crash.
“The mother, after eight hours of surgery, is finally in stable condition and has avoided greater physical injuries,” the longtime family friend told Global News Thursday.
The collision happened around 3:30 p.m., a the bus stop just outside the BC Ferries foot passenger ticket booth.
Witnesses say a TransLink bus jumped the curb, striking several people.
Global’s Emily Lazatin has more on the scene, where a memorial is growing.
