On Friday afternoon, a gaggle of agitating folks turned up earlier than the Hindu group at Digholia village of Narail, demanding punishment of the Hindu youth Akash Saha for belittling the prophet in a Fb put up. The assailants set Gobinda Saha’s home on fireplace after ransacking it, mentioned Gobinda’s mom Dipali Saha. “Among the villagers tried to douse the hearth after the assailants left.”

The attackers beat up Gopal Saha. He mentioned, “They got here and instructed me to provide them Tk5 lakh. As I needed to know why I must pay, they began assaulting me and hit me on the pinnacle.”

Case towards 200-250 unidentified folks, 5 remanded

A Narail courtroom on Monday positioned 5 folks, who had been arrested on Sunday evening in a case filed over the vandalising of Hindu properties, on a three-day remand every.

They’re Sayeed Sheikh, Rasel Mridha, Kabir Ghazi, Rezaul Sheikh and Masum Billah. All of them are Lohagara upazila residents.
