The final rites of former Bajaj Group chairman, Rahul Bajaj, had been carried out in Pune on Sunday with full state honours within the presence of representatives of India Inc, politicians and employees of Bajaj group who bid a last adieu to the veteran industrialist.
The final rites had been carried out by Rahul Bajaj’s sons Rajiv and Sanjiv on the electrical crematorium at Vaikunth Smashanbhoomi in Pune metropolis.
Bajaj, the Chairman Emeritus of the Bajaj Group, breathed his final in a non-public hospital right here on Saturday because of sickness. He was 83.

Bajaj was the person behind the enduring ‘Bajaj’ model that grew with the aspirations of the center class in a pre-liberalised India.
Bajaj was the recipient of many awards, together with the Padma Bhushan from the federal government of India. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2010.
“Passing away of Rahul Bajaj, who was a powerful nationalist, a pacesetter of ‘swadeshi’, a fearless industrialist and vigorous individual, has triggered an irreparable loss to the nation. He’ll proceed to be an inspiration for generations to come back. Might God bless his soul and provides energy to his household to bear the loss,” Ramdev tweeted.
