Russia on Wednesday stated army drills in Moscow-annexed Crimea had ended and that troopers have been returning to their garrisons, a day after it introduced a primary troop pullback from Ukraine’s borders.
“Models of the Southern Navy District, having accomplished their participation in tactical workout routines, are shifting to their everlasting deployment factors,” Moscow’s defence ministry stated in an announcement, as state tv confirmed photographs of army items crossing a bridge linking the Russian-controlled peninsula to the mainland.
