Elements of Spain wakened on Tuesday with streets coated in mud and the sky tainted in an orange hue as Storm Celia pushed mud from the Sahara desert throughout the peninsula.
Within the Spanish capital, Madrid residents and enterprise homeowners had been seen cleansing terraces, streets, home windows and automobiles which had been coated in a layer of mud.
Spain’s nationwide meteorological company (AEMET) warned the air high quality was severely affected by the haze, particularly within the centre of the nation.
