Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday (March 20) addressed Isreali parliament and urged the Jewish nation to desert neutrality and help Ukraine which is being invaded by Russia.
Zelensky, who himself is Jewish, has already addressed legislatures of the US, the UK and Germany.
In remarks that at a number of factors in contrast Russian aggression to the Holocaust, Zelensky mentioned that “Ukraine made the selection to save lots of Jews 80 years in the past.”
“Now it is time for Israel to make its selection.”
Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has walked a cautious diplomatic line since Russia launched its invasion on February 24.
Stressing Israel’s robust ties to Moscow and Kyiv, Bennett has sought to protect delicate safety cooperation with Russia, which has troops in Syria, throughout Israel’s northern border.

Bennett has held common telephone calls with Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, together with a three-hour assembly with Putin on the Kremlin on March 5.
