Farmers have to date harvested 90 % of Boro paddy in haor areas, mentioned an Agricultural Ministry press launch on Sunday.
Of those, 80 % of Boro paddy harvested in Kishoreganj, 100% in Netrokona, 68 % in Brahmanbaria, 92 % in Sylhet, 88 % in Moulvibazar, 90 % in Habiganj, and 95 % in Sunamganj.
In keeping with the Division of Agriculture Extension, Boro paddy has been planted in 4 lakh 52 thousand 138 hectares of land in 7 haor districts of the country- Kishoreganj, Netrokona, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, and Sunamganj this 12 months. Of those, 4 lakh 500 hectares of boro paddy have been harvested to date in haor. Alternatively, 4 lakh 98 thousand 160 hectares of paddy have been planted within the excessive lands (non-haors) outdoors the haor.
A complete of, 9 lakh 50 thousand 318 hectares of land have been planted boro paddy. Of this, 5 lakh 71 thousand 600 hectares of land have been harvested to date, which is 60 % (90 % in haor and 32 % in non-haor).
Lately, Agriculture Minister Md. Abdur Razzaque mentioned that ample mixed harvesters and reapers have been supplied in Haor for quick harvesting of paddy. This has made it potential to reap boro paddy shortly even in hostile environments.
The Ministry of Agriculture has been offering essential help to the farmers from the very starting for fast harvesting of ripe paddy in hostile climate. Satisfactory allocation of mixed harvester and reaper has been introduced from different districts as properly.
